Charity

The charity event Concordia's Kappa Chi chapter is probably most well known for is its annual Teke-in-a-box fundraiser. The event holds its beginnings in the early 1990's, when it helped raise money for Montreal's homeless. Teke brothers would stay and sleep outside for three full days in a shelter build with scrap material, panhandling for donations.

Currently, Kappa Chi donates the Teke-in-a-box proceeds to the Action Centre of Montreal, which helps the mentally and physically handicapped. However, the tradition to build a shelter and live outside still lives on.

Why Community service?
